Project Estimator – Ridgeland, MS

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Analysis:
    Review and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the full scope of a project.
  • Quantity Takeoffs:
    Accurately determine the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for construction.
  • Cost Estimation:
    Calculate all project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, transportation, and subcontractor fees.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management:
    Solicit, review, and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Software Utilization:
    Use specialized software for estimating, quantity takeoffs, and project management.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to gather information and discuss project details.
  • Bidding and Proposals:
    Prepare and present detailed cost estimates and bid proposals to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Value Engineering:
    Identify opportunities for cost savings and recommend alternative materials or construction methods.
  • Risk Assessment:
    Analyze projects to identify potential risks and challenges that could impact cost and timelines.
  • Data Management:
    Maintain historical cost data and databases of material prices and labor rates for future estimates.
